We're Back!

Moon Tracks is back online. We are currently working on getting the appropriate SSL back in place. As such, some links from the Search Engines are not working correctly.  We hope to have that fixed before May is over.

We ended up purchasing a spot from a totally different webhosting service.  While we won't say who we were with, we will let you know that it had been acquired by EIG.  If you look at the list of EIG subsidiaries (aka acquired companies), and based on what I have since learned about EIG, these companies are likely to fail within the next few years (if they haven't already).  EIG keeps the brandnames, like Constant Contact, but restructures the companies with subpar support systems until all the profits are depleted and the companies eventually fail. 

We will be keeping our attention on EIG from here on out. If we see that EIG  becomes involved in any company that we are working with, we will promptly stop the service and move our business to an organization that values its customers.

May 2018 Moon Tracks Web Site Issues

Working to get a new service up and running - the webhosting agency that we are currently with has been another failure for us. Have found out that the company was acquired by an organization that is known for depleting the companies of all their assets and letting them fail. So I have done some extra research to try to find a hosting agency that is on more solid footing. I am busy working on the IP resolution process which can take several days. Then I can start rebuilding. Check in on the Moon Tracks Facebook page for regular updates.

January 31, 2018 Super Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Blue Moon

Moon is Leo, 11° 37'

This full moon is the second in the month for most of the world, will appear larger in the sky because the moon is positioned closer to Earth, and will be a total lunar eclipse for approximately one-third of the world to see, where the sky is clear.

The full moon in Leo tends to be associated with children, matters involving the heart, feelings of loyalty, and expressing our creative side. 

I have heard so many different descriptions of this Lunar Eclipse; the Super Blue Blood Moon  and the Super Blue Moon Eclipse are the two most common. Regardless of what we call it, this is not a routine moon event. Even more rare than a blue moon.

There still are no planetary retrograde motions for another month. Make good use of the productivity associated on so many different levels, but don't get burned out trying to do too much.

The partial Solar Eclipse on February 15 will also be the Chinese New Year.

January 16 / 17, 2018 Capricorn New Moon

The First New Moon of the New Year, in Capricorn, leads us into the first eclipses of 2018. This new moon chart appears low-keyed, at first. But after a good look, we realize there is so much power and determination packaged in this new moon, that we may need  extra time to adjust to the fact that there's nothing low-keyed here. Thankfully, there is adaptability built into this new lunation, and that gives us the power of introspection. If we use the power wisely, there is the potential for an extra benefit in it for us.

Eclipses of 2018

The Solar Eclipses of 2018 will happen February 15, July 13, and August 11, 2018. All three solar eclipses will be partial eclipses. None will be visible from the United States. In fact, all three are in regions where very few people will get to witness them. The February and July eclipses will be in the extreme south of the southern hemisphere while the August eclipse will be in the extreme north of the northern hemisphere for about two-thirds of the eclipse. It will sweep down into Northern Europe and Northeast Asia along the Pacific Ocean. 

The February 15, 2018 solar eclipse is from the 150 saros series. The July 13, 2018 eclipse is from the 117 saros series. The August 11, 2018 is from the 155 saros series. 

The Lunar Eclipses this year will be in January and July. 

The January Lunar Eclipse is a total on the infamous Blue Moon, January 31 and belongs to the 124 saros series (of lunar eclipses). The locations that will get to experience the totality of the Lunar Eclipse are the western regions of North America, the majority of the Pacific Ocean, Eastern Asia and Australia. 

The July Lunar Eclipse is also a total eclipse, two weeks after and before the July and August solar eclipses. This Lunar Eclipse belongs to the 129 saros series. The locations that will get the best views of the Total Lunar Eclipse are portions of  Asia, Africa and Europe, along with Australia and South America. 

There will be no Full Moon in February, 2018. However there will be a calendar Blue Moon in January and another calendar Blue Moon in March, meaning that there will be two full moons in January and in March.

Happy New Year!

The first full moon of 2018 and with it being this close to the beginning of the year, that means we will get a second full moon in January. This Cancer Full Moon is known as the Wolf Moon. This is a super full moon so it will look larger in the sky, especially on the horizon. There are multiple interactions from the full moon to Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Neptune, giving us a lot of think about and navigate as our new year begins.

Essentially, the Moon is the tail end of a Kite pattern, which elevates the Moon, in status, through the Grand Trine in Water, by adding in Capricorn's Earth element. All the placements in this Kite are feminine receptives. December 18, 2017 Sagittarius New Moon

The last New Moon of 2017 in the sign of Sagittarius. Then Saturn and the Sun move into Capricorn in a few days before Christmas. 

Venus will be Out of Bounds through the last week of December and into January. Saturn has been moving through the high declinations  of Capricorn, right along with the Sun. 

Lots of Unusual Lunar Factors to consider in 2018. Fasten your Seatbelts as we slide into 2018.  Starting in January, we will get two full moons in January and March, no full moon in February, a Super Full Moon during the Lunar Eclipse in January and a Solar Eclipse in February will begin the Chinese New Year of the Dog.  

Moving out of 2017

Yep! The year is almost over. I have worked really hard to get all the scripts cleaned up, particularly after the fact that the web hosting service that I had been using for the past 10 years kept crashing and destroying everything. Two rebuilds was more than enough to convince me that it was time to move to a new service. Now that I have adapted to the new set up, I'm glad to have made the change.

I have done my best to get all the calendars for 2018 set up in the background and ready for transition on the first of the year. We have a Facebook page now that you can follow and post at if issues come up. Another change this past year is that we added SSL to the website. Even though you will never be asked for any identifying information, our pages that do ask for a little information should now be safer from hackers trying to obtain any information.

So it looks like we are ready for another year of astrological information!

Full Moon Gemini December 3, 2017

Full Moon Gemini Super Moon Advent Sunday Wheee! https://www.lunarliving.org/articles/fm1203_17.html This full moon has some difficult aspects to it, that we must do our best to navigate with grace.  The Mercury retrograde motion happens approximately eight hours before the peak of the full moon and the retrograde motion will end on December 23. This can be a miserable time to plan for the holiday travel and mailing/shipping season. Double check every detail at least twice!

The USA Total Eclipse - August 21, 2017

In the United States, a total eclipse will sweep across the entire mainland of the country on August 21, 2017.

Moving into 2017

The New Year and the Chinese New Year have arrived with gusto. In February, there will be a couple of heavy hitting Eclipses. The Lunar Eclipse in Leo will occur February 11.  On February 26, the Solar Eclipse in the sign of Pisces will occur. 

One note is that our website is experiencing ongoing technical issues as spam bots are hitting the site hard and eating up bandwidth.  We can't afford to continue to purchase more and more bandwidth since most real people who visit our site block the ads. At the end of each month, our guests may end up hitting the Over the Bandwidth Limit alert. Our apologies.  While the Moon Tracks Gang loves to make the information freely available to everyone, with the use of the ads, we don't make enough money off of these ads to afford unlimited bandwidth.  We have blocked as many of the major IPs that are bringing in these spam bots, but there's a limit to our ability to get them all without slowing down the site for the general use by others.

Solar Eclipses 2016

March 9, 2016 (March 8 in the western hemisphere) is a total solar eclipse over the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean and part of Indonesia. 

September 1, 2016 is the second solar eclipse of 2016. It will be annular while moving over the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean and portions of Africa. 

Moon Tracks Back OnLine! Feb 20, 2016

We're back online.  The site's melt down lost all current backups and I had to work with an older 2015 backup and rebuild most of the 2016/2017 materials. But we are back on track with a brand new server and a brand new IP address.  If the DNS has not yet resolved for you, it will be soon.

Moon Tracks Calendars Update Feb 12, 2016

The server is still down.  The company that I rent the server from has been extremely vague about how long it will take to fix the issues.  If I don't get a good answer by Monday, I will be purchasing server space from a different company.  I hope to have it back up and functional by February 20.

Power Days

I used the first week of January to power through a much needed update of several pages at Moon Tracks Astrology. When I first started Moon Tracks about 18 months ago, I thought that I would quickly update the pages that I moved from Lunar Living a lot sooner than now. But alas, I got busy with so many other things that I lost track of time. So, my Resolution was to get this done. Hey, it's done!  I needed to redesign a few features in order to get these pages to fit with the format. So I hope the changes don't throw anyone off by too much.  Thanks, everyone for your patience! 

2012 - Moon Tracks Astrology Calendars

The Moon Tracks calendars have been updated for 2012. The newest pages are for declinations. For those of you who are new to astrology or are simply curious, declinations are the measurements used to indicate where on the latitude of the earth the planets are overhead in relation to the earth. These are used for parallels and contra-parallels, and I also use the information to determine when planets are hidek and exdek (out of bounds) in relation to the path of the Sun.  Thanks for visiting Moon Tracks and I hope you enjoy the calendars that I create for the site.

Moon Phase Widget

 Gawd! I must really LOVE the moon! The highlight of last week for me was putting together a moon phase widget for Moon Tracks. I added in the void of course information - when the moon is VoC, it will show up under the moon phase plus I added in the degree and sign of the moon. This is information that doesn't show up on most Moon Phase widgets PLUS it is not a javascript or java applet so it won't Hide from people when they visit the site when they have "scripts" turned off in their browser. I'm pretty proud of myself right now. But, now, it's back to work on things that bring me income. Thank you New Moon. You were Wonderful :)
